Building memories that last two lifetimes
We are a group of 1,000+ families in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago that have joined together to celebrate and build upon the bonds with our children within the proud Native American theme.
We offer different programs for children of all ages. Our Preschool Program is structured specifically for young children (3 or 4 years old) and their parents. Our Indian Guide and Indian Princess Programs are recommended for elementary school age kids, although many continue to participate even into middle school. The Trails Programs are designed with busy, older kids in mind – no tribal meetings and more challenging events (e.g. horseback riding, white water rafting, and paintball).
Now under the Algonquin Longhouse Charter, blessed and embraced by the founding families of the Indian Guides & Princesses Program, our program is completely member owned and managed!
We volunteer our time to plan and attend fun events with our kids including campouts three times per year, overnighters at museums, and other fun activities such as bowling, skating and pinewood derbies.
We invite you to join us. Please call (847) 261-4113 or click on the links to the left to find out how you and your kids could join us today!
You'll be glad you did!
How the Algonquin Longhouse, Inc. NFP is organized
Guide Program - Chiricahua Nation, Iroquois Nation, Kickapoo Nation, Miami Nation
Princess Program - Chickasaw Nation, Croix Nation, Mohican Nation, Prairie Nation
Trails Program - Trailblazers, Trailmates
The 8 Nations are further subdivided into neighborhood tribes. Tribes typically meet once a month during the school year at a member's home. In addition, the Tribes of each Nation participate together at one big event each month from September through June.
The Preschool & Trails Programs are not subdivided into tribes. They meet once per month.
We'd love to hear from you to answer your questions, introduce you to our members and invite you to try out our programs. Please join us for an event before you decide whether to join. Most of us joined because someone invited us to a tribal meeting or a nation event, our kids had fun and we did too.
